Exfoliation
Exfoliation is a must for those who want smoother skin with more glow. Learn more about what exfoliation is, and check out our wide range of facial exfoliation products that can be used on their own or as part of a regular skincare routine.
What is Exfoliation?
Exfoliation is a method of cleansing the pores and removing the outer layer of dead skin cells, stimulating the skin to form new ones. Exfoliation gives a beautiful and healthy glow and reduces issues with blemishes. Chemical exfoliation with products containing AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid), or PHA (Poly Hydroxy Acid) is the most effective, and the product is applied to the skin and massaged in without needing to be rinsed off afterward.
How to Use Exfoliation?
If your skin looks a bit dull and gray, exfoliation followed by a good facial cream can give it a lovely boost. You can also exfoliate your skin as part of a regular routine daily or a few times a week. Make sure to choose an exfoliating product that suits your skin type, and first cleanse your skin with an appropriate cleanser before applying a small amount of the exfoliating product and massaging it into the skin. After exfoliating, apply your preferred moisturizer. If you notice your skin peeling after exfoliation, you may need to reduce how frequently you use the product or try a different one.

What are AHA, BHA, and PHA?
AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid), and PHA (Poly Hydroxy Acid) are all chemically exfoliating substances that have shown beneficial effects on the skin through several studies. They are known to improve uneven skin tone, reduce wrinkles, and address various skin issues. AHA and BHA are typically the most effective of the three substances, but the effectiveness of AHA, BHA, and PHA always depends on the specific substance and its concentration in the product, as well as the other ingredients contained in your chosen exfoliating product. Additionally, different skin types react differently to exfoliating ingredients.
What’s the Difference Between Exfoliation, Peeling, and Scrub?
Terms like exfoliation and peeling are often used interchangeably, and they refer to the same process. Don’t be confused when you come across these terms, as they mean exactly the same thing. However, be cautious if you’re about to purchase a scrub instead of a product for peeling or exfoliation.
A scrub is not the same as the two mentioned above, but is instead a skincare product with small granules that are massaged into the skin to loosen and remove dead skin cells, after which the product is rinsed off with water. Scrubs can generally be quite harsh on the skin, and instead of improving the skin’s condition, scrubs can sometimes worsen problems. Therefore, we do not recommend scrub products but rather products for chemical peeling.
